Delete Your BlackBox Account

BlackBox is a car ownership cost-tracking app published by George Barbour (sole trader, Scotland, United Kingdom), trading as "BlackBox". If you no longer want to use the Service, you can permanently delete your BlackBox account and all data associated with it.

How to request full account deletion

To permanently delete your BlackBox account (including your account record, email, and Google sign-in identifier on our servers), email blackboxsupport@ghillie.xyz from the email address registered to your BlackBox account, with the subject line "Delete my account".

We will verify your identity, confirm the request by reply email, and process the deletion within 30 days. You will receive a final confirmation email once your account is removed.

How to erase your data from inside the app

If you want to wipe your vehicles, fuel logs, costs, modifications, trips, and images without deleting the underlying account, you can do this yourself from inside the app:

1. Open the BlackBox app

You must be signed in to the account whose data you want to erase.

2. Go to Settings

Tap the Settings tab in the bottom navigation.

3. Scroll to the Danger Zone

Find the Factory Reset section.

4. Tap "Erase All Data" and confirm

All your vehicles and related records will be deleted both locally and from the cloud. The deletion is irreversible.

If you also want your account record (email and authentication identifier) removed, follow the email instructions above after performing the factory reset, or instead of it.

After the retention periods above expire, the remaining records are deleted automatically.

How long does deletion take?

In-app data erasure (Factory Reset) is immediate. Email-based full account deletion requests are processed within 30 days of receipt; backups containing your data are rotated and overwritten within that same 30-day window.

Cancelling your subscription

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Pro subscription. Before deleting, cancel your subscription from your Google Play subscriptions page (for Play Billing) or from the Settings - Subscription screen in the app (for Stripe). If you delete your account with an active subscription, future billing periods will not be charged, but already-paid periods are not refunded.
